Confusion (Photograph & Words)

Confusion

As mirrored glass,
my soul reflects in water,
the etchings blurred
in borrowed lines.

Branches thinly veiled,
rippling within the stream.
I confess my confusion,
upon the looking glass.

For her glance.

This puts a whole new spin on self reflection and you captured it beautifully in words and photography.
I make greater sense of myself in nature and can only hope your chaos/confusion became clearer within as you peered deeply into the elements. 🩵✨🙏

@MoonlightLullabyOld The photograph, the water, I was peering upon with a lens playing distortion more acted as a symbol. A play in light to represent and hold the feeling of how I felt, expressed artistically. My life during that time, was upside down, a chaotic mess of confusion of grief compounded by personal hurts, and you could say I found solace peering into those waters. The light of that water that day, without me, bending the light with my photograph, using my lens, I'm not sure would have pronounced the same enunciation. Water acts like a mirror, flows right through you, bends and distorts you in refraction of light.... and so did the lens I was using that day.

As I mentioned to Indy, above or below, I only knew to title it that day, 'Confusion'. And it's been a personal want in myself to find words to this photograph, to finally open to the meanings and understand them that I saw that day. So yes, a new spin on self-reflection. 💖 Thank you for seeing my words, as I write somewhat opaquely, so I deeply appreciate you understood them...
@SW-User That's wonderful that you held onto the picture until you had the proper words without forgetting about it. I've done that a time or twenty; either with my own pictures or stock images. Sometimes you have to let it speak to you. With all the pictures on my nature posts, (that were taken personally)... I never imagined I'd write about them. A couple of them were taken before I even started writing at that. One day I came across them and bam 💥....the words.

I'm glad to see you writing and I do hope you eventually entertain doing so with the idea I mentioned. There's a lot of feeling and imagery that to play around with if you decide to. I'm sure it will resonate with other photographers using a legit camera as well. 📸 🩵✨

@MoonlightLullabyOld Well, my true passion is photography in art, but that's only because I love the art itself. It fits my being and is where my artistic being thrives. Put me behind a lens, suddenly (visual) metaphors appear to me and I become lost within them, and I'm lost otherworldly. Your passion is writing. I don't think I could use a stock image myself for this purpose, but how we find our truest expressions matters little, but more that we find them. Most of my work, is from long ago. My life has taken me down roads I never imagined, and some from grief, some from love's lost, and I spun myself out. And coming out the other side, while there is a voice in photography still for me, those old shots of mine, where I was chasing words for, I found them.

I call this the stems of life, where one root of life maybe defeated, grows a new stem to get over the haunted frightened branches. I'll unjangle it, place my heart forward, creativity once found again anew...

Yes, bam 💥 That's how these words appeared for what I wanted written years ago... 😉

You've captured the confusion aspect in your photography and words here. I feel distortion and confusion when I look upon that looking glass at times. Water brings confusion when you look at that image rippling and feeling it. I hope I answered here correctly in my words! 🌿💫

@SW-User You have answered correctly. I'll remind you there is no 'right' answer here, tho. I'm just glad my words match my old photograph. I titled it years ago, during a time of my life I was enduring a lot of confusion, where to look in life to find solace, and while the words would never come to me then to write them. I had placed hope in one day, may I understand myself one day later? Or years later?

I have always loved this shot. It remained without words until I could untangle its meanings for me.

You have captured well my thoughts... 💫

@Amor69Fati Thank you. Words I put together finally from an old photograph I took. Took me this long to find the comparison in words. 🙏
