It is an Australian native. A callistemum from the family myrtaceae, related to the melaleuca. Some people confuse it with the banksia but it's family protaceae is completely different. I have several different callistemums in my front garden which is 100% Australian native.

@Angelbrat I took an "arty" one at a clothes optional beach, I was clothed but some people were staging a nude swim, I just could not resist the laugh and a cheeky pic!
