@jshm2 it does fast as it is

Personally I would recommend Linux if you want to get the best performance out of older hardware or really any hardware and don't want arbitrary requirements and forced updates.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow you dont switch to linux from windows for performance reasons, it's like telling someone to buy a motorbike instead of a car.
@MartinTheFirst Actually it is probably the most reasonable reason to switch. In fact that is where you will so the most improvement even with a "heavy" Linux distro.

And your analogy doesn't make much sense.

A more accurate comparison is two cars.

Car 1 (Windows) A corporation gets to randomly decide what you can and cannot do with your car, randomly forces updates that replaces the motor with a Go kart engine without your consent and uses the onboard entertainment system and purchase contract info to spy on you and sell your data to random companies again without your conssent.

Car 2 (Linux) configured for performance not as a sales funnel. Does what you want it to and you control what you purchased.

Think im gonna stick on win 10 too for another year, i got a good antivirus software so should be fine. I hate the AI anti-privacy direction theyre taking.
