Why are dogs so awesome?

I was so down in the dumps yesterday, and its like my dog sensed it and he stayed by my side ald laid with me for over and hour

I had a little cat that used to do that for me...she knew when I was really tired from work and would fuss at me till I sat down in the recliner chair and she would get on my lap and stay over an hour.
