Is It Calming To Chant Phrases?

One of my parakeets, Boo Boo, has chanted every afternoon, usually late afternoon, for over a year. He says one of two phrases...either “I don’t believe it” or “What a cute bird” and he’ll do it for a few minutes very rapidly.

@Eddiesolds Those parakeets were screaming Thank You at me basically demanding I give them greens. I had to leave and told them I would give them some greens when I got back home. When I came back they were politely saying “Thank you” to remind me. They are such funny little critters.

@Eddiesolds They talk a lot. It’s been rainy and this is the second day in a row they couldn’t go out into the sunroom so they’ve been pretty chatty. Yesterday I got up to start making dinner and one of them asked me “What are we getting?” Like I was supposed to make them something for dinner too.
