You can get a couple of boxes . Wrap them with Saran Wrap , cut a flap on each end and weight them down with a rock or bricks and put them in area where the cats stay . They will find them and get in there ... or a piece of plywood laid over...anything to keep them dry and out of the wind . Most will get up under cars

@TexChik I have a heavy display box I got from Sam’s Club, the front part is open and I put towels in it and a heavy towel over the box, sleeps there sometimes but not lately. did use it during the ice storm, I washed the towels and put an extra one in it. The cat stays in the neighbor’s backyard and sleeps under a pile of junk on his covered patio most of the time. I don’t know about this time what it’ll do.

@TexChik I remember living in an apartment complex with a large laundry and seeing feral cats sitting next to where the dryer vents came out they were trying to get some of the warmth, after a few hours of that a black cat would be covered pretty good with dryer lint.

@cherokeepatti well at least it will have options

@TexChik If I find it half-frozen it probably won’t put up much of a fight if I can take it into the sun room and put my portable space heater with a fan on it. But finding it will be the problem.
