I am more of a dog person, but once in while I run into a cat I just really take to! In the late eighties I was going through a rough patch and found myself outside without adequate clothing for the temps. Several feral cats came and cuddled up with me during the night and I was comfortable. I know this sounds like a whopper, but it's true.
@puck61 We took in two feral cats and when my daughter was having problems with lupus and her leg was hurting one night she told me (she was laying down trying to sleep). I told her to take a Tylenol. She kept saying it hurt. The little black-and-white female cat jumped up on her bed and started kneading her leg and kept doing it. My daughter said it was helping her, it was like the cat knew what she had been saying and knew that a massage would help her leg. That’s when I decided we’d keep that cat.
Cats, we have 3 and I love them for their independence and incorruptibility. They are headstrong but also affectionate and like to cuddle and that makes them lovable, even if they can be very exhausting and annoying with their less pleasant habits, like occupying my favorite chair and refusing to leave it when I want to sit down, playing catch in the middle of the night or noisily pushing the screw cap of a bottle back and forth on the tile floor, bringing earthworms and mice into the house and playing with them or hiding them in our bed.
@Tminus6453 My grandmother had a cat and one time someone left the lid off of the sugar bowl, and you can guess what happened. Where there’s a will, there’s a way with cats.

Mostly birds then dogs but no cats. Allergic to cats.
Both, I've only had cats however, as the breeds of dogs that I like are either banned(pitbulls- so freakin cute) in Singapore or too big to be kept in an apartment(Newfoundland-10/10 would ride into battle)
@empanadas We have pecan groves in central Oklahoma, some of them are on farms and the farmers will let you pick up pecans on the halves. Our family drove to the next county and spent a Sunday afternoon picking up pecans, we came home with about 10 gallons of pecans. My uncle spread them out in a banana box on the floor to dry since they’d been on the ground. About 3 weeks later we discovered that the cat was using the pecan box for a litter box....
