@Vivaci King fishers are so beautiful! In German they are called "Eisvogel".

Yeah, they're truly spectacular in RL...tiny but you can catch them waiting patiently on branches along the waterline

@Vivaci The kingfisher in the pic looks different from the one here. I guess it is a different subspecies of kingfisher.

@Vivaci @TheWildEcho According to a French legend, the king fisher got is beautiful colours when Noah sent him away fromt the Ark to look for land. But because of a heavy strom, the kingfisher had to fly higher than the sun and thus its upper side took the colour of the blue sky and while the heat of the sun turned its belly red!
