Can animals/pets get Corona virus?

I hope not. I feel so lonely, so I've secretly brought them into the house - just for play time (My husband doesn't know about this. Good thing he is not around for 2 weeks🤫)

So far no.

There was a rumour circulating that dogs could catch it, but that does not seem to have been backed up with any evidence.

Animals CAN however transfer the virus to other humans by virtue of an infected person petting them and the virus getting onto their fur, and then a healthy person petting them and picking up the virus.
