Can a fish drown underwater?

Fish can drown, they require oxygen. It's not called drowning though.. I don't remember the correct term

Not drown, as such, but fish need oxygen in the water to live and will asphyxiate without it.

yes, fish breathe air.. if there is no air in the water the fish will drown.

of course, if the oxygen levels are wrong they can suffocate.
