Do you consider your pets to be part of your family...?

...and am I being a grumpy old man considering the following ?

My brother just sent me a short video clip as a joke. It includes someone feeding weed to their cat. The video then shows the result thereof as if it's funny.

I told my bro that I don't find it funny. It's similar to feeding your small naive child weed, filming the result and then showing it to other friends and family for a laugh.

That's absolutely disgusting Wraithorn and I would certainly consider that animal abuse. Cannabis is very potent to a small animal and God knows how scary it was for the cat. Your brother is a total jerk for sending you that. Videos like that should be reported.

As to answer your question about my pets, they are without a doubt, a part of our family. I love my cats like I would love a person and do all I can to give them a wonderful life in my care.

I am sorry you had to even see someone harming one. I would be really upset too.

@Peapod I'm glad you also see the diffs between comedy and abuse in connection with this. Thanks for answering and please give your cats my greetings and love.

@Wraithorn, it should be a no-brainer to anyone that is half decent. I think a video like that should be viewed by some authorities that maybe could bring charges. Sometimes a local news station will run with that to get some people identified. It's very serious imho.

I hug and kiss my cats all the time, so yes, I would be happy to give them an extra dose for you. I hope you also have a furbuddy or two to love. My life is so much better with animals in it. 🐱

@Peapod Thanks for that. I don't have cats anymore. The last two had long and interesting lives though. They both reached 19 yrs old. If you check in my cat story featured in my profile the 2nd and 3rd cats,Shelley and Tigger, were my cats.

@Wraithorn, awww, that is awesome they had nice long lives with you. I will have to post some pictures of my three cats on my profile. Paddington is this huge orange and white cat that is our most recent addition. He is my shadow and he is always a quiet presence by my side. Even my husband has really fallen for him because the cat is just so mellow.

I will go check out your crew.
