I have some people that are trying to persuade me that I should have my dog put down. But he is on pain meds and slowly drifting away. I feel that this is better for him to adjust to the spirit world. What do you think?

I had to put my dog to sleep about 4 years ago. The vet recommended it for a long time but I kept putting it off. He was miserable so I finally did it. I still feel bad about doing it but it released him from pain. How could I let my little friend suffer because of my feelings? Think about it.
