What’s up with everyone saying cats are mean ?

Wow. I kind of want to get a cat, but everyone is discouraging me. 😩

I was once told, "Get a cat if you want something to love. Get a dog if you want something to love you."
And those were the words that turned me into a crazy cat lady.
