Why would someone steal a cat?

I know someone has been taking him into there home because he smelt of perfume.
But yesterday he didn't come home he's always at the door at 5am every morning for his food and he's been gone two days. So I think they stole him, he never goes near anyone he doesn't know. Takes the piss.
Not too long ago someone was hurting him really bad.... What should I do?

I have two cats that are indoor only. I could never risk anything happening to them. They are rescues.

Do you know anyone in your area that smells like that perfume? Put up flyers. Put her pic on FB and here saying he/she is lost. I always share pics of lost animals. Remember, posting on the computer gets around fast.

When you get your little one back, don’t let him/her go outside anymore. You can bring some of the outdoors in, like rocks, grass, etc.

@BlueRain he was a complicated cat he hated me when I first got him till I was pregnant and he calmed down. He only ever went in the garden which is safe for him. But a cat attached him every day and drove him out so he went out more. I never wanted him to go out, idea of my bf.
I will put things on the internet but I don't think he'll be found if they don't want him to be

@BlueRain he did have but he hated them, he always found a way to take it off. So probably not

I have a blank one too. He’s so cute!!!

Another thought is maybe this person thought he was a stray and got to know the cat well. If you post around your neighbood, maybe the person will give him back.

@BlueRain they know I'm looking for him the past week he's been back later than normal and ive had to shout him for his food and he came home 20 minutes later
