Any advice on pet gerbils?

I've been doing a lot of research but still open to learning more about taking care of gerbils, Soon I'm going to go buy two of them~ I'm excited but also nervous as I never had gerbils as pets before

I hear they are extremely difficult to take care of. Like guinea pigs, they are sensitive to everything. If you don't have the right stuffing material for the floor of their cage, they could have some sort of respiratory failure and die. Water has to be changed a lot. It's almost a full tie job taking care of them. Gerbils may not be that sensitive but that's what I was told.
