You shouldn't have kicked the frog. That was totally unnecessary. I once saw a frog on my sister's front pathway. I wanted it to move because I didn't want anyone to accidentally step on it. I lightly touched it with a fallen branch and it hopped into the flowerbeds out of sight unharmed. That's the way to deal with frogs.
