Move the Goose!!!

I just saw on the news how in Kansas a lone goose migrated to a school playground and laid her eggs, so now the children cannot go outside at all during recess because of this. Seriously??? I'm an animal lover, but it's important that children get some fresh air also & shouldn't be deprived of outdoor recess because of ONE MOTHER GOOSE! Why can't they RELOCATE her & her eggs?

@Serenitree but surely of she is so good at choosing a nesting site the children can still play?

@SW-User I didn't make this up. Google it. Some animals will not only abandon their young if they've been handled by people, some will kill them.

@Serenitree Ahhhh well thank you for that information! Makes much more logical sense. I'm wondering why she picks a childrens playground...that in itself is interesting. She is hostile (like some other people) so they can't go out to the playground, but they have set up an indoor playground, so its not a lack of free play time by any means. I'm sure they are being educated with much the same information you provided me and it will be kewl for them to witness the babies once they hatch, if they do get to see that at all. I hope they have a camera on her when time gets closer so they can in fact witness the birth of babies.

@Wolfdancer @SW-User The first paragraph explains it. They choose large flat spaces for good visibility, like playgrounds and parking lots. It makes sense to them, but, hey....they are birdbrains.

I wonder if the powers that be would be so kind and considerate if she'd built her nest on a football field in the middle of a football season?

@Serenitree LOL I hear ya there! I've actually never heard of Geese nesting in parking lots, let a lone playgrounds. We have a ton of Geese around our area too. I'm sure if they were on a football field in football season they'd be relocated hahaha! But they don't lay in winter?

@Serenitree Yes, this I am aware of with some animals. If I'd thought about it long enough before posting, I'm sure I would have googled the information myself, but well, hell, isn't this what this site is for? Rambles lol Then someone else gets their panties in a wad over it lmao smh sheesh I'm so ignorant silly me. Personally, I'd like to see the Goose's progress...maybe they'll put it on Facebook lol

@Wolfdancer okay,,baseball diamond. Same story. No goose will keep those million dollar babies from their playground.

@Wolfdancer This is why I love this site. Someone makes a statement, and someone else questions it, and being a very curious monkey, I have to do some reading on the topic. Every day, I learn something. I never want that to stop. I love learning.

@Wolfdancer Whatever Fernie said to you, is why I blocked her/him a long time ago. I don't come here for hostility and insults. If I wanted that, I never would have left a bad marriage.
Wolfdancer · 56-60, F
@Serenitree Yeah guess that's what I'll do as well, block. Just really don't understand why people feel they have to resort to name calling and insults to make a point. So unnecessary! Must be in a bad mood this morning who knows. I don't let it consume my good energies though. She's more bent than I am lmao

@Serenitree 😂 respect!

@Wolfdancer Her bad mood and lack of civility, isn't just today, or occasionally. It's habitual.
Wolfdancer · 56-60, F
@Serenitree Ahhhh well alrighty then! Smh She needs saged lol and maybe carry some Rose Quartz amongst some other gemstones lol
Serenitree · F
@Wolfdancer If only someone cared enough to get her some😊
