Does anyone's cat meow obnoxiously loud in the middle of the night?

Mine does and its like a weird cat call thats all warbly and mournful and sounds like a deep siren on steroids on tape played back really slow

I'm visiting with friends and their two cats become very 'talky' at night. My own cat chattered all the time, but at night she'd make what my brother called 'pet semetery' sounds. She was bored and wanted me to get up and play with her. She was "fixed", so I'm assuming that's what her deal was. One of my friends' cats isn't neutered, so he may want to get out and find a date.

Yes! Mine drags around one of those rag toys with no stuffing ,i think it believes it's a dead kitten the sound is so mournful ! Worst part is that gets my dog howling to!

@lostforwords same. My kitty drags around a drawstring. If you cover it up with anything, she will try so hard to protect and care for it.

@lostforwords Hahahaha! The chihuahua looks a wee scared. Our dog whines when our 2 cats fight. He has like 60 -70 pounds on them so i don't know what his problem is.

Has your cat been neutered or spade? If not, that could be the problem. If so, perhaps you have a ghost in your home. Animals are often aware of these entities we can't see.
