Went to Antarctica and was surrounded by little penguins and had seals so close you could reach out and touch them (although that would have been dangerous).
@CaptainCanadia that would be awesome. There are bobcats here and although they aren't rare I've only seen one in the wild in my entire life...sitting not far from the road on a rock like it was catching some warmth from the sun.
@cherokeepatti Yeah, I live in the boreal forest in Canada and there's a tremendous amount of wildlife, but most of it is noctural and shy. So I see deer, moose, and coyotes all the time and bears occasional. But lynx, wolves, badgers, wolverines, and so forth are rare sightings.
@CaptainCanadia Saw 2 coyotes the same week here this summer. The boy I'm raising saw the second one (he wasn't looking down at his Ipad that time) and he got the biggest kick out of seeing it, it was dark outside...and about 7-8 blocks from where we live. Told him we need to get in the car and go places after dark more often.

While fishing near some clifts on the ocean . There were bald eagles soreing over head and whales breaching very close to the the small boat we were in ,it was scary but also a magnificent site to behold .
I saw a sparrow hawk on a power line and it had a dead mouse draped over the line holding it with it's foot and eating it...reminded me of an animal documentary.
I got to hold a baby gorilla one summer at the zoo where I was volunteering at the age of 16. I also gained the trust of a tiny dik dik antelope by sitting in his pen daily until he allowed me to pick him up and pet him.
The best that summer was playing with an 85 pound mountain lion cub!
@bhatjc it really should hack been scary to me, but I could read his behavior well enough to know when his mood swung more to the wild animal he truly was, despite constant human exposure.
As the only big cat capable of purring, though, in his best moods it was an unparalleled experience to scratch the chin of a "kitten" the size of a German shepherd.
I was petting a cow at the ranch and she decided to pet me back, rubbed her head all over me
