Cruisin' through the dreamworld
My special girl 💙 I am so grateful for her
I need to do better for her, always.
I remember the vet tech on the phone saying, "aren't you going to come and see your puppy?"
She had parvo, I was struggling through college and a job I hated. I couldn't drive and my bf at the time wouldn't take me.
In the first three days I had her, I had to take her to the vet every day.
I was told she was 9 weeks old from the "breeder" (puppy mill).
She wasn't.
On the third day, I took her a town away to an emergency clinic, to treat her parvo. It cost $4000 and I was struggling to pay for it.
Of course I wanted to see her. But I needed to pay for her bills to save her.
But I feel like she has always had abandonment issues because I COULDN'T be there. I had to ask my friends to drive me during her three week vet stay (and they did, but I couldn't always be asking them).
She survived.
She will be 17 in January and I have learned so much from my Lucy girl. It is my job to make the rest of her life the best I can muster.
