Tommy hasn't once tried to go back to his old home

They live across the street from me and he hasn't even tried once to go over there.

We go for his walks and then he trots right back to the market and slaps the door

It makes me kinda sad for the guy who he belonged to before. Even though he was abusing/neglecting him, he DID love him

But Tommy is doing great. Slowly putting on weight and jumping on me a lot less ☺ now he just stands up on his hind legs and slaps the air and it's so funny 🤣

He also humped my winter coat in an act of defiance 🙄🙄

Yeah that is great! When I got kona my husky puppy my grandpa's dog Duke didn't like her. The vet said it would take about 3 to 4 weeks and they would be best of friends and sure enough they were. I don't like that Kona picked up his only child bad habits, but she is still cute even if she won't play unless its ONLY her and myself outside. You are doing great I admire you.

@DeadOrbit happiness to you and your dog friends ☺☺
You know I really love my animals and if for some reason I had to give them up to a new home I wouldn't care much that I missed them I would care only really that they are happy and healthy. Animals don't understand why these things happen. I just wouldn't want them to be sad and or confused which it sounds like he isn't and that is great.

@DeadOrbit I think he definitely was at first! But he is gaining his confidence and he has his very own bedroom with all his things so he can decompress 💙💙

He's doing great and I am really proud of him (and me, for not giving up!) it was a little scary after the attack, but he a good boy and he was definitely confused and overstimulated
@caccoon Hard with dogs that been in those situations they sometimes have those scary triggers and we don't know what they are until it happens. I am glad you didn't give up either that is awesome and I hope he is a great companion for you going forward.

@DeadOrbit I believe in him ☺ we will work on it together.

In retrospect he could have done so much worse, and I could have been more aware.

And it might happen again, but I am being very careful entering things into his environment and entering him into Lucy's. Luckily I have a huge place so I keep them in their own zones and spend time with them separately, and slowly after I have him all up to date with his vet visits I will integrate him into this part of the house ☺

But he loves his bedroom for now and only borks when people tell outside

He is a GOOD BOYYY
