Men and Corgis

There was once a stupid and false jingle about eye glasses:

“Men don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses.”

Anybody who has been an adult for longer than 15 minutes knows that some men will make passes at anybody who stands still for more than 30 seconds.

But it turns out that at least some Corgis don’t either. My Corgi mix, Chloe, recently changed the kissing rules.

For years, if I turned my cheek and said “Gimme a kiss” she would.

Now, if I don’t push my glasses to the top of my head, she is not in a kissing mood.

Life is sometimes disappointing.

I used to have a corgi which wandered in off the street. Took him to the pound the next day but as nobody claimed him he became mine.

@ArtieKat My late husband was the Corgi guy. He had three when we met. We drove through a fierce snowstorm from Pittsburgh to Philly to pick up a pup. Clancy. Beyond adorable. But I just love dogs and there aren’t many I’d exclude. We paid $1350 and risked our lives when there was a Corgi mix at the shelter in our town, which seemed a bit daffy to me. But he paid out of his own account and that’s what he wanted.

A little white 5 or 6 lbs of fluff came to my daughter’s house requesting asylum. Now her name is Lizzy, and she’s part of the house’s weird friend group which includes a ball python (not very social, she stays in an aquarium), a black lab mix Friday, two cats named Jimmifer and Beeswing and a white chicken named Dot.
