Dogs, cats, birds, ferrets...
Dogs were made to have an amazing relationship with us! Search and rescue, herding, hunting, warning seizure patients, guiding the blind, helping deaf people...
All that and they are the best of companions on a personal level.
Definitely very special creatures.

I’ve known some really good folks who are just not dog people. They don’t dislike them, they just wouldn’t have one as a pet.

No thanks. Thinking that someone's a "red flag" for not wanting to be mauled by Fluffy the 40kg bull terrier left constantly unrestrained because "he's a sweetheart, never bitten anyone before" is the red flag
