So when I first got my pup. He was like that, curious but a little shy. But what I've found as times gone on, he may be a little desperate for a friend.
It's not that I didn't socialise him, terriers tend to be mischievous, and recall wasn't always the best. Including him not understanding that you can't just run up on another dog.
So he's had to learn that he has to be patient, otherwise not playtime. Unfortunately that doesn't exactly sit very well with him because it means he's spending more time being patient than playing.
So he yaps and lunges.
