He has been worrying me....

Thoughts?

My dog Teddy would usually always be a parrot on my should on the couch cushion after work.

Lately (a few weeks) he has been going to sleep in the bedroom when I get home...he rarely "parrots" any more... my hours are the same as always.

Just now I found him like this under the dining room table..

He is only 13. And he hops and bops around like a puppy still. Mostly within the 10 min I come home, or when I throw his lambchop toy. His bowel movements are normal. Eating habits normal. Sleep normal.

When I use my high pitch voice and say like, "come here", he wags his tail and comes to me. But then 3 minutes later he sulks off to the bedroom.

I can't think of anything I've done differently.

I can't figure it out.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: He seems ok sleeping on my lap. After seeing some comments, it might be arthritis. But right now, if it is that, it's very early stage...since most of the time he is active and doesn't show stiffness, or whining.

Pic for adorableness:

13 is pretty old tho.
Its not uncommon for dogs to 'hide' when they feel sick or in pain, its instinctual. (You know, seeking safety from predators - not that you are a predator, just that its a natural impulse behavior for dogs)

If it lasts longer than a day maybe get him looked at. Might be simple as arthritic pain.
