Considering Lucy has been with me longer and more closely than any other living being on the planet

Including parents and my brother... I just really am scared to lose her.

I guess I will grow from it. It's inevitable. But she is basically my baby and I will lose her in the next few years. Kinda scary.

I will be okay. It is a long time for her. I hope I have made her happy.

I've lost too many dogs and cats over the years. Even the short lived hamsters and guinea pigs. A beautiful little lopped ear bunny named Thumper too young from an alergy. That little thing was a people bunny. So named because he did that hind foot thumping thing when attention was coming.
Everyone of the loses hurt deep.
Now of my 3 I have this girl who on the chair arm next to 3 to 4 times a day just for a few minutes of pets. She's 13. 4 years older than her canine and feline brother and sister.
I have the same thoughts and feelings as you concerning her. She was her mom's kitty and when mom was gone her entire personality changed.

It's so sad but the time you had together is really beautiful. I never wanted pets after having so many as a kid and lots of them dying in tragic or unexpected ways.

It’s hard. I’m still not used to the feeling of not having my dogs around. I miss my Chewy every day and wish I could cuddle him again, take tons of pictures, and kiss her every day. 💙

You will grieve deeply and, eventually, the memories of your time together will actually bring you more joy than pain. She'll always be a part of you
I'm sure you made her very happy.

Hopefully she's extra strong and has years beyond expectation. Keep enjoying her company. 🤗
