Senior dog

@itsok He actually eats cat food, he has his whole life, vet said don't change it. I don't know what meds he's on off the top of my head and I'm at work.

@Cigarguy101 ah ok, I was going to recommend the prescription food cardiocare, my dog has been on it 2 or 3 years now, but if your vet says don’t change it, I’m sure that’s best.
She’s on vetmedin 2x a day (that one is so expensive), Lasix 2x a day, and enalapril 1x a day. I’m wondering what your fourth med is, and if I could incorporate it. Is his coughing mostly under control?
The best thing I can think of then, is try not to get him excited. When suki gets excited she starts her heart failure cough.
Does your dog have a hard time regulating his temp? Suki used to never get cold, and she gets cold now, but worse than that is in the summer. She HAS to be in air conditioning or she can’t breath 😔 I’ve had to shave her the last two summers to help with the heat

@itsok the 4th med is for his cough. Our vet recently added it. A few weeks ago he had a coughing fit that lasted about 2 hours. I called the vet and we were all sure it was time to say goodbye. But the vet felt it wasn't his time he gave him a antibiotic and started him on a cough medicine. It was helped so much. He's was a senior when we got him so I don't know about his younger days but yes now he's always cold. He loves being under blankets

@itsok I do remember that one it's called temaril p. It's helped him so much

@Cigarguy101 oh weird, it says that one shouldn’t be given to dogs in congestive heart failure
