I used to be afraid of dogs because of a traumatic experience in my childhood. However, when my nephews gifted me a Golden Retriever for my birthday, my fear gradually subsided. The large, beautiful eyes and soft, furry paws of my new pet have completely won me over.

If you ever mentioned your fear of dogs then that is kind of a cruel gift...it's like if you had a known fear of spiders and someone came and was like "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" and then released a swarm of spiders.
