Any other whippet owners here?

When my standard poodle died (he had been a rescue dog) a friend suggested I get a greyhound as he is very much into them. I said I thought they were a bit big for me, so he suggested a whippet. On the whole I am very happy with my whippet. He's very affectionate and generally obedient except when he sees anything running, animal or human. His love of the chase is stronger than in any dog I've had before, and he sometimes seems to be on such a high that he doesn't seem to hear commands of any sort. Someone told me whippets are known for this, though the problem usually eases when they are around four. Well, he's coming up to four now with no sign that he is calming down.
