A walk just around the block with Addie is about 40 minutes

She's a lumbering beast and she likes to smell everything. I just let them lead me pretty much cause I think that's fair

Walking them together used to be really frustrating, but I look forward to walks now since it's kind of the time I designate to just not worry about ANYTHING

And ultimately I still do, and still have to pull myself back sometimes. But it helps me so much just to have time to allow myself to calm down and just experience stuff happening directly around me instead of the insanity in my head

Same with standing in line. I love that shit now. I know I don't have to do ANYTHING ELSE but stand there

I tried running with my dog. Her nose made sure there was no running. I should've known than to try to run with a scent hound

@SooperSarah I've tried this as well 🤣

Lucy wants to go 100kmph

Addie wants to lie down she just staunchs
@caccoon one of the dogs I used to have would run with me but when he was done, he was done. He'd just lie down and there was no budging him till he was ready.

@SooperSarah what a guy 🤣

Lucy will kinda run with me, but she doesn't enjoy it for some reason so I dont take her. They prefer walks that are just about them, or they know they're going somewhere, or being off leash
@caccoon I can't let maggie off her leash. She'd pick up a scent and be gone. It could be raining treats and she wouldn't care.

@SooperSarah Lucy is like that too, but as she's older she listens better now. But yeah I understand the hound troubles 😩

Their hunting instincts are stroooong
