Most important is fluids . Good broth or stock is made from meat bones and has a lot of easily absorbed nutrition. (I think you can buy it in cartons in the soup aisle?)
Edit ....cooked chicken (no bones or gristle) and boiled rice is also a good bland food to start off a tender dogs stomach .
@JestAJester did your dog eat much chicken ? Sometimes its about giving them very small amounts to start off with . You know, as to not stress out the stomach .
@JestAJester ive read boiling it is best . And just shred it up and give small amounts about half an hour apart . Maybe even serve it (cooled) shredded in the water you boiled it in, as that water will have nutirents in it .
Good luck man . A sick dog is scary and heartbreaking .
@JestAJester really!? I had a great dane who got Addison's. I know it can actually make them food centric - ie: they can put on weight and get a little food obsessive.
I was on prednisone mylsef for a while, and yeah, i put on a little weight .
So i truly dont think its the meds.
That's a worry .
Is the other med Florinef tablets , that's what mine needed everyday .
