A memory of my childhood resurfaced.

I’m thinking about it because the owner of the dogs reaction seemed very careless.

So when I was around 10 I was taking my dog at the time (a rescue Pit Bull, she passed a few years ago but was the sweetest girl in the world) for a walk. A Rottweiler had jumped his fence and had ran up on us like he wanted to attack. I feel like if I was with a smaller dog or alone he would have hurt me. My Annie stood her ground. I tried to hold her back but she was too strong for me, so even though my feet were firmly planted on the ground, she drug me to the Rottweiler because she was getting aggressive back. The Rottweilers owner eventually came out, glared at me. She didn’t say a word and just took her dog back in the house.

Why didn’t she apologize? Her dog was about to fight a 10 year old and her dog 💀 I told my mom and she told me the lady was mad because Annie would have whooped her dogs ass. But as an adult, she could have at least said something, like “I’m sorry my dog would have ripped you to shreds if you were alone”. Give me some confirmation that this won’t happen again, there were plenty kids in the neighborhood that would be playing without the presence of a protective dog. I love Rottweilers, but like Pit Bulls, they are a serious responsibility because of their strength. You just can’t let them hop fences and chase children.
