If you take your dog to play with other dogs anywhere, you might notice a trend of what dogs tend to be most favored by your dog as buddies. Rough and tumble? Friendly and gentle? Equally obsessed with scenting/scentwork? Love to play with toys? More interested in people than other dogs? Additionally, rather than breed, I'd go for a compatible personality.

@greensparkle Oh, he loves to play with other dogs. All kinds of dogs at the dog park, but we walk with a little bulldog and dashhound at the moment. He's not a rough and tumble puppy. He's a bit of a snob and complains if the grass is wet or doesn't want to walk when it's raining. Lol

@ArminArlert :-) Sounds adorable!! Sounds like breed doesn't really matter to your dog, then. I'd say pick a breed that YOU like, and find a personality that's a good fit.
