Why does the rspca contact you if they're going to reserve the dog the same day?

I enquire about a dog, that's been available for a few weeks.
The same day they ask for my landlords permission and I send it over an hour later, the dog gets reserved to someone else.

Kind of tired of these dumb games you know...

Why even contact me?

Maybe it’s one of those things where no one looks at the application straight away then everything happens all of a sudden. It must be so annoying to not know what’s going on. Just remember at the heart of it all the stress and confusion, a lovely dog will get a lovely home, so it’s worth the agonising part of dealing with humans first

@GLITTER I hear what you're saying... And in all honesty that is all I care about.
But I felt like they gave me false hope.
I contacted them an hour after their email.
Totally bizarre tbh.

@Mellowgirl I don’t even know what the problem is. They probably just have too much admin to do and someone ducked up, that doesn’t help you though 😞 I hope you manage to get it sorted. Do you think the dog is reserved to you? Xx

@GLITTER nah the woman I spoke to said she couldn't discuss it further with me as the dog is now reserved. She said she'd keep my details on file. The dogs been removed from the website.
There's been no further updates.

It's not that I haven't been successful it's the fact they said they require my landlords permission.
My council has to specify a dog breed to authorise the permit.
I explained to the manager that I would only be applying for small breeds like yorkdhire terriers, Jack Russells, daucshunds and chihuahuas from rescue centres. Since its a flat.
He said that's fine just update him when I know the breed.
I wrote in the email the exact same thing.
And it outlines my rules of tenancy and details of fines if I don't comply.
