I Like Dogs

My dog is a good businessman. He knows exactly what to do to get the things he wants out of life, and every day he learns how to do that a little better.

His goal is not the same as yours or mine, his primary focus is to eat Human food, and to get some scratches in between, and of course he needs to get outside to mark his territory. He is more than happy to let me pick the range of that territory, and he never gets tired of visiting the same places every day.

He also feels it is necessary to defend the property from everything, including Birds, Rats, Raccoons, Skunks, Squirrels, Possums, Cats, Other dogs, Mailmen, Paperboys, Meter checkers, Garbage trucks, School buses and even to defend against the invading scum neighbors getting into their own vehicles next door or mowing their own lawn, or doing their own gardening.

The ritual at lunch goes like this. I go upstairs to make lunch, he gets very exciting and runs around letting me scratch him and jumping around all excited, he leads me to the box of treats because he knows I'm a big sucker and will give him one or two.

So then I am in the kitchen, what to make for lunch.. I reach for the instant noodle soup and I can almost feel his disappointment.. OK, no soup today, so I see we have fresh bread, cut a couple of slices, get out the Ham and Cheese, throw him a piece of each, Now were talking. I make my sandwich, get a glass of water and head downstairs to eat. He follows me.

Now I'm at my desk eating and he watches every bite, he watches where every crumb goes, how I chew it, and swallow it. I can feel him burning his desires into me. GIVE ME YOUR FOOD HUMAN SLAVE!!

Of course I give him a piece, it would be cruel not too right.

He stays until all the food it gone, then saunters off the see if my wife is having anything.

The Power of Dog.
