I Have a Dog

I have a coyote problem. I reside in Southern Minnesota rural Albert Lea area.

Lately the coyotes have been coming into the yard. I have two labador retrievers that I trained for waterfowl hunting. The dogs are in a kennel, but I fear for them because the kennel is chain link fence type. Anyone know the best way to repel them from the area. Any help would be nice. Sincerely: Michael

I believe the best thing to do is actually shoot them unfortunately. You may have to check with your local game warden and law enforcement about the legalities of it but I believe that might what it has to come down to. But your local hardware store or garden supply stores might sell some kind of spray that could attempt to keep them off your property I've seen that product for deer but not coyotes. If you have a black power rifle you can try firing a blank charge (just powder and some kind of wading) to scare them off but I don't know how effective that my be as far as a more permanent solution.

Unfortunately I reside to close to town city ordinance forbids dischsrging any firearms or noise devises. Even the use of archery equipment is not allowed. I dont know of any sprays either.

Hmmm then I guess your best option is a second barrier. You could also try something less than lethal like a paintball gun to mark them for game and wildlife. Just make sure you have the high ground

develop a taste for coyote, if they realize they are the prey they wont come around no more.
Idk but I used to live in that state when I was 5-6 years old
