I Enjoy Walking My Dog

I like to walk my dog later at night (ten at the earliest) because he gets anxious around people, and especially other dogs. The only problem is that tonight I happened to run into another dog walker who was walking the direction opposite if mine. His dog was old and totally chill, but mine was defensive. I apologized about his behaviour and the guy was nice about it and we went on our way

Kind of

I was taking the route I normally do when I walk my dog when he stopped to sniff at a bush. I turned a little and in the corner of my eye I could see the guy at the end of the sidewalk (I had almost gone into the neighborhood next to mine by this point, I'd been walking for a bit)

I didn't think too much of it, just because the route I take is more "private" in the sense it's a trail behind houses

So I kept walking for a while, and periodically my dog would look behind us and do that snorting sniff thing they do when they know they can't bark. So eventually I just looked behind me, but I didn't see the guy anymore. But my dog hasn't acted like that before, and he had been doing it since the dog walker and I initially parted ways

I just felt sort of uneasy and cut the walk short to go home 😅

I wasn't necessarily scared. The guy was nice and I live in a safe area. But no one likes feeling like they're being followed in the dark 😂
