I Love My Dog More Than Most People
Late last night my 1 1/2 year old Great Dane gave me one of the biggest scares of my life.
After being uncharacteristically lethargic, even ignoring prompts to play with his favorite toy most of the day he began twitching. Which he's only ever done in his sleep. He would start almost flinching at any loud sound, sudden movement and touch. After about 15-20 we called the emergency vet and we were told to monitor him and if it didn't improve throughout the night to bring him in. After another half hour of his face muscles spasming and not visually focusing i wasn't going to wait and we rushed him to the 24 emergency vet. He began acting normal even jumped in and out of my suv and the vet said minus what appeared to be a seizure he is perfectly healthy. And that it's more common than you'd think especially in pure breds.
He's back to his happy self today but holy shit was I scared
