I Like Dogs

Learned something new last month. My dog got into the auto shop and found some anti-freeze. (I was livid. No reason for something like that to not be properly disposed of immediately.)
I ran him to the vet and they gave me the estimate of how much it would cost for them to treat him. I couldn't afford it. They didn't want my dog to die just because I didn't have the money so they showed me on a printout what they would do to treat him and how I could do it at home.
Their treatment called for alcohol by IV for a period of like 14 hours. When the body has to start removing the alcohol it creates something that will also remove the anti-freeze. So the instructions were to keep him drunk on Everclear. Every 2 hours he got 4 tbsp of alcohol. They said to put it in milk but he didn't like it. I added hot dogs and he went for it. He turned out fine.

I'm impressed the vet's office would give you the DIY version of how to help your pet. That's awesome he's ok. He a very lucky boy to have you.
