I Believe That Pit Bulls Are NOT Monsters

I have met many Pit Bulls, and I love all of them. They're usually very affectionate toward me, and love to lick me and be petted. I love these dogs, and think they're great. It bothers me that so many people have this misconception that Pits are vicious naturally. No they're not! If a dog is taught or encouraged to be mean, it will be, but that's only if that behavior is condoned. And people who treat animals cruelly, or condone it are horrible, despicable individuals!!

They're a fighting breed ... They have a prepencity to fight there's nothing wrong with that that's just who they are

That's why I think they're a great breed to train for obedience purposes. They're smart, and pick up ideas fairly quickly.

They have that if they are bred and taught to fight. Have seen many that are trained well and never fight, but if left untrained yes they may be more aggressive, but usually with a territorial or loyalty reason. Our mini dauschund survived a pit bull attack, he got too close and the owners hadn't trained him well and didn't see the signs.

Unfortunately, there seem to be so many bad owners, and pit mixes along with Rotweillers make up 76% of fatal human attacks, per dogsbite.org.
