My son is dying for a cat

I was never a pet person, I never had a desire to own a dog or a cat, I saw many stray cats and dogs growing up and they scared me and even attacked me, but my son is dying for one, he keeps crawling meowing and pretending to be a cat, he was licking his hand and asking me to pet him like a cat, it was becoming too much and I told him stop this your not a cat, I asked my husband for a cat and he said there is no point since we're moving it's a hassle to take it with us, and I asked my friend who is a cat lady she owns many cats, and she tried to give me an aggressive cat that hasn't been vaccinated nor chipped or anything and she told me he isn't good around children! Eventually we decided to wait till we move to get one, untill then he will just keep pretending to be a cat.
