I'm suspicious of every adult person who says they hate cats or dogs. I don't think it's normal to hate the whole species. I get "I'm not a fan of" but hate...? I always imagine them throwing around poisoned baits and stuff like that.
@CrazyMusicLover I know people who are afraid of dogs and cats, because of early experiences and don’t like being around them. But even they wouldn’t go out of their way to harm one.
That’s along the lines of psychosis—people who start by harming animals move on to hurting human beings.
@bijouxbroussard I'm afraid of dogs too because I had to have anti rabies shots because of one 4 years ago. I didn't realize it before but any dog regardless of a size could be a deadly threat. Same for cats but a cat has to be already sick to attack unprovoked. A dog is often aggressive just because you dared to walk by it.
That's exactly why I love them. They wear their hearts on their sleeves ..you never have to guess how they feel about anything so when they choose you ...you know you are loved by them ...
I think it has a lot more to do with other things. Like if a cat sprays urine around the house, or barfs up a dead mouse on your rug next to your bed while you sleep or scratch, bite, hiss or growl at you or do other such things. Some cats are really aggressive. I like cats but don’t know how some people put up with them if they are like that. I’ve seen a Siamese cat that was constantly growling or threatening to attack, it was at a neighbors home. If you wanted to walk from one room to another and that cat was sitting near the don’t you wouldn’t dare. Imagine if you never had a cat before and that was the first one you saw. You’d probably hate cats thinking that they all could do the same.
@cherokeepatti My cat is crazy af but so far he hasn't sprayed. My son is determined I need to get him neutered but he doesn't go outside so there's no need to worry about him creating strays & I just want him to be a cat, you know?
I'm suspicious of anyone who says they hate cats. Preferring dogs is fine, but "hating" them when it isn't based on some sort of fear or something is kinda sus 😒
