Do you have an indoor cat or one who likes to go out at night?
Mossy loves being indoors and doesn't venture any further than the garden. Do animals have bad memories that stay with them? She was in a bad way when she was found, I often thought her injuries were by human hands and not a cat fight. I don't believe that it is only elephants who never forget.

I have one of each. The one who goes out hunting was a wild stray I adopted, and she's not happy if she's not killing everything that's smaller than she is. But I don't let her out at night in cold weather.
