In 17 days I will go to petsit for a friend that I did that before, for about 2 weeks.

She told me that her cat Lucy can be really strange, I have met her and she is indeed, not one of the affectionate cats, and she scratches too if one insists too much.
But then, she is still a lovely cat...:)
My friend said, if I have trouble she will leave me a number and call another friend to come and pick the cat!
Do you think it can get that bad? 🤔
Well, I am happy to go there. I am happy to be in the same environment with a cat again, I miss them so much.
But let's see, will the cat be as happy as me lol

I have been in her house again, but then her cat wasn't there and I took care of feeding the cats living in the yard around her building. I will do that again, plus the house cat. We shall see...

I think it would be fine. Just don't approach the cat first. Always let the cat approach you on her own terms.

@LadyGrace yes, I think I will be fine too and thank you for the tip, I know cats but I might get too enthusiastic
@Boeing I'm sure you do know cats. She may be a little skeptic or afraid at first since Mom and Dad are leaving for a while but she'll get used to you again. She'll remember you eventually. I don't think they forget. I always speak low and soft when in the presence of animals so they feel comfortable and safe and not afraid. After all, she may feel a bit afraid not knowing if her mom and dad will be back home or come back home. I always play soft sweet music for them as well and turn on the cat channel cuz they love that music, or I turn on and watch the fish in the ocean and they like that too. Hahaha they love being spoiled, as I'm sure you know. As you're sitting in a chair, you can always call the cat over and it will get used to sitting on your lap. It's an adjustment for all. But I think you'll do great.
