I didn't know it was the last time I'd see my Mr. Daisy
It was a Thursday night, and I bent over and put both hands upon my skinny old cat Mr. Daisy and cried over him. He was wasting away in his old age, and I just knew it and sobbed for a good half an hour while I showered him with love....The next day my husband and I went on Vacation to Mexico and the kids stayed home, the following Monday our kids took Mr. Daisy to the Vet, who wanted to put him down. The kids wanted their brother to come home from accross the province to say his last goodbyes to their life long beloved cat that they had since childhood. My son came home and held Mr. Daisy in his arms on a blanket with a heating pad underneath while watching CAT TV with birds and squirrels ...Mr. Daisy passed away that Tuesday night at 4:00 AM in my sons arms, so my daughter took over and preserved Mr. Daisy in a blanket and put him in the deep freezer, to take him to the Vet the next day to be cremated. The kids didn't tell me or my husband that he had passed until we came home from our vacation on a Saturday, they didn't want us to be sad while in Mexico. I think that they handled it very well, and maturely. I'm just glad I got to say goodbye....Sometimes I still think that I catch a glimpse of Mr. Daisy in the corner of my eye, like as if he just passed by, But it's just wishful thinking...We miss him. Love you Mr. Daisy! He was 16.
