New kitten

I got a new kitten today as a belated birthday present. She is so tiny- I put her in my bathroom with food, water and litter box and she ran under my sink cabinet and won't come out. Is it better to get another kitten so she won't be so scared and probably lonely? I know she's just not used to me yet but I don't want her to just avoid me and stay under my sink. I've barely been able to pet her.
The lady I got her from has several of her brothers and sisters left. Just wondering if two are better than one and how much more work it would be and if getting two instead of one would make the kittens happier.

It is a big scare for her, she is very young and does not know what happened to her. She grew to be comfortable with her brothers and sisters and the place she was living and now she is all alone in a place she does not know with none of her brothers and sisters.

She will be adapt better with one of her brothers or sisters with her, well I would get one of her sisters so she does not get pregnant by her brother. But she will eventually need water and food, and she will come out to seek that out. You can make it easy for her by putting it near where she hides, and eventually she will learn you are giving it to her and she will began to trust you.

If you keep only one cat, it will be your best friend, but if you have more than one, they will learn to get along and be best friends and you will become a 2nd love to them. If you want a strong companion, then wait it out with her by herself. If you are happy just having some companionship and not care about too much attention, then go with two of them.

@accidentprone ugh- such a tough decision! I texted the lady I got her from and she's going to bring the other one to me tomorrow. But I hope that one of them will bond with me enough to cuddle and sleep with me at night.

I've always had a 2nd cat (sometimes a third) but don't worry when she's ready she'll come out. you might set out a treat for it and make sure she sees you leaving it so she associates you and food.

@Pretzel good idea!! I think I will go back tomorrow and get the other one.

Such a sweet baby. When I got my cat he was already 5 years old but very skittish so he stayed under my bed for about a day until he got used to me. After that he was a part of the family. Yours will be okay and it would be a good idea to get another one so that yours won't be so lonely. It just needs to get acclimated to it's new playmate
