My kitty passed away on the 16th. Of course, it's been really hard.

I know I need another kitty soon. I can't decide if I should get 2 kittens or try to get a young adult (around 1 year) that doesn't mind being alone with me. I know 2 cats mean twice the fur, the food, the litter, etc. Plus, I do love the bond created by only having one cat.

The kitties would be around 8 weeks old so I know they need a companion while I'm at work.

Any thoughts?

In addition to our 12 yr old dog, we now have a 7 month old Maine Coon. Since we both work, he now has a 3 month old Maine Coon brother.

They definitely have fun together. They’re also quite social, much like dogs. They actively seek your company, attention and love being part of the family. They’re also fun because they’re fairly large as males.
