I think my kitten might be mute.

He won’t (or can’t?) meow, even when he is distressed. It makes me wonder if that could be connected to him being a genetic anomaly. He’s a male calico, and they exist only with XXY chromosomes, which only occurs in 1 in 3000.

I suppose I’ll ask the vet, because even though male calicos are sterile, he’s still getting fixed regardless.

I had him since 7 weeks and he will be 8 months soon. He’s also smaller than most cats his age.

Not meowing is unusual for a cat. I'd definitely ask the vet about it.
