Do cats grow out of chewing on things? [I Have Cats]

My cats are about 7 months old and they are constantly chewing on ethernet cables, vinyl flooring, cardboard etc. Are they teething? Are they going to get tired of it?

My current cat destroyed two sets of dining room chairs. Overnight, she would stand on the dining table and chew the seat back. I think it was something to do with the fact they were vinyl - either the feeling or the noise of her canines popping through.
I now have wooden backed chairs so problem solved.
However, she still loves my vinyl slippers if I leave them lying around - as for Crocs, those expanded foam type shoes, she goes into ecstasy if she finds one of those, she doesn't chew bits off but just punctures it all over with her canines.
She's 6 years old now, so no. They don't always tire of it. In her case it's a kind if fetish!
