Hard to say. Out of all the cats I've cared for temporarily or shared my home with permanently, only one of them chewed on 'inappropriate' stuff much. She had chewed on the corners of a desk, before I realized she was doing it. A lovely wooden desk that had belonged to my mom. I put tin foil on the corners for awhile, and she hasn't done it since.
